What is UMPSA LCC 2026?
Aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG4), Quality Education, the Centre for Modern Languages (CML) is committed to nurturing excellence in language and communication skills among UMPSA students.
In line with this, the UMPSA Language and Cultural Carnival 2026 (LCC 2026) aims to strengthen students' mastery and knowledge of English and the foreign languages offered at institutions of higher learning. These languages include Mandarin, German, Korean, Japanese, Arabic, Spanish, and Bahasa Melayu.
The carnival gives students a real opportunity to apply and showcase the communication skills they have developed in these languages. Confidence in multiple languages does not just enrich a student's university experience; it shapes graduates who are more employable and more competitive in a global workforce.

Starting the journey earlier.
This year, we're also excited to widen our reach beyond higher education! UMPSA LCC 2026 expands its competitions to primary school and high school students for the first time.
This extension reflects our belief that a love for language and culture should be nurtured early, giving younger students the chance to build confidence and curiosity that will carry them into their future studies and beyond.
CULTURA.
The theme for UMPSA LCC 2026 is CULTURA — representing Creativity & Innovation, Uniqueness, Language Sustainability, Tradition, Unity, Reflection, and Awareness, the values that form the foundation of this year's carnival.
Through this theme, students are invited to explore the languages and cultures of communities around the world, and to see how creativity, tradition, and identity are woven together through language.
By taking part in the competitions and activities, students from primary school through higher education are challenged to think creatively, critically, and analytically.
EXPRESS IT.
LIVE IT.
Beyond the competitions themselves, UMPSA LCC 2026 hopes to inspire students to carry their love for language and culture beyond the classroom, turning learning into something they continue to explore and live out long after the carnival ends.
